Once again, at the apex of summer, Manchester hosts one of the finest Art and Craft shows in the entire country. Craftproducers presents the 29th Annual Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival at Hildene Meadowlands on August third through fifth. Without any exaggeration, this Festival has integrity. Says Charley Dooley, founding father of Craftproducers, The 175 artists who participate toil endlessly in their studios designing and creating the objects that they pack into their vans and cars as they head out to the open road. Each artist has a fascinating story and lifestyle. Serious collectors follow Craftproducers shows to find the antiques of tomorrow.
The artists and artisans display and sell a wide range of media, including clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, music, painting, sculpture, leather, wood, printing, and photography. The actual products include objects for the home, kitchen and garden, clothing, Art for the body and the soul including jewelry, clothing, and accessories. While there is a plethora of creative works for ones own life, this Festival is a fantastic marketplace to shop for gifts that are difficult to find anywhere else.
This year several local restaurants will bring their delicious victuals in what will be a veritable Taste of Manchester. And, for pizza lovers, there will be a wood oven pizza impresario selling completely fresh pizza.
