USA Special Event Description:
In 1870 the first Missouri, Kansas and Texas train rolled into a new town in southeast Kansas. The town would become Parsons, Kansas and the
railroad would be remembered as the Katy. One hundred thirty-six years later, our community celebrates its railroad heritage and town history with the sixth annual Katy Days Festival. It's Kansas' only railroad-themed festival. And this year it will be better than ever. The Katy Railroad Historical Society will hold its annual meeting in Parsons during Katy Days this year - so join them and thousands of others in what has become a Memorial Day weekend tradition. Ride an excursion train, renew old friendships, rekindle memories or just enjoy two days of fun, food, entertainment and railroad-related activities in a 15-acre park setting. Many events are free of charge. Come join us!
