USA Special Event Description:
Held on the second weekend of October to raise funds and awareness of our Shady Valley Elementary School, built with community hands from local field rock and, the now extinct, wormy chestnut as a WPA project in 1938.On Friday, October 13th, there will be a bean supper at the school starting at 5 p.m. An auction is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. On Saturday, October 14th,the parade will begin at 10 a.m. and includes the pride of Johnson County marching band, Shriner's crazy cars, floats, antique cars, tractors, clowns, horses and more. Entertainment at the day long event on the school grounds will include bluegrass music, gospel music, square dancing, clogging, line dancing, and a cake walk.
Activities for all ages include face painting,experience the thrill of a helicopter ride above the valley. Explore and learn from the colorful exhibits, tours of the cranberry bog, more than 50 booths and 15 different food vendors will be set up. Come and be a part of this incredible experience.

Star's Big Top Amusements,climbing wall,bluegrass and gospel music, plus much more. Saturday 6:00PM "Hee Haw" featuring the Laurel Bloopers admission $1.00 this is for the scholarship fund
