USA Special Event Description:
The Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival is modeled after the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, but in the sunny Southern California Wine Country City of Temecula, located just over an hours drive South/East from Los Angeles, and less than an hours drive North of San Diego on I-15. It is a combination of "free" and "ticketed" events, which will be held at various locations Old Town Temecula. This event is produced by Musicians Workshop, a California Non-Profit 501(c)(3) performing arts & music public benefit corporation, and proceeds from this event will go towards the building of a Community Cultural Arts & Music Center in Temecula.
Event Performers:
Thousands of jazz enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs are treated to mostly free and some ticketed performances by legendary artists that have included: Horace Silver, Cybill Shepherd, Ernie Anderws, Ernestine Anderson, Mose Allison, Richie Cole, Dick Berk, Jeff Hamilton, Mike Wofford, Holly Hofmann, the Powder Blues Band, Julio Figueroa, Paula West, Ranee Lee, Ed Johnson & Novo Tempo with Jennifer Scott, Sherry Williams, Jon Laskin, and much more including: US Congressional Certificate of Recognition of Lifetime Achievement recipients, Sammy Nestico, and Dick Berk, The Chuck Niles Jazz Music Award, and music Legends like Ritchie Cole, renowned Canadian band leader Tom Lavin, and flavored by Scott Marin from the Grammy award winning Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band and many more. Attendees will be treated to a new experience in Old Town Temecula as this years event moves into Old Town with multiple stages up and down Front Street, Clinics, Workshop, and performances including our opening night kick-off party in the new Old Town Community Theater, and the closure of Main Street for free concerts on Saturday night. As melodic jazz riffs soar through the valley, the presentation unfolds before them.
